Ventriloquist is not a new thing in this genre. And I do hate dolls' horror movies, since "IT." They always creep me out. Including this one. But since I loved pretty pictures, I say this one is well executed. They have succeeded to build the creepy ambience. Well, what can I say... Their previous movie, SAW, was a great success too! No wonder this one has a great cinematography, though the story is quite general. Oh, I almost forgot, you can catch Donnie Wahlberg's act here. Yep, that NKOTB member who's gone skinny in Sixth Sense... Guess he finally found his movie genre, aight?
In the end, my summary is those SAW creators are a doll fettish, gees...

Ocean's 13

Hollywood's into complex movies nowadays. Trying so damn hard to look smart with the stories. After Pirates At The World's End, they did it again with Ocean's 13. Or maybe it's me who's getting more stupid? Can't tell...
The gank face another problem. And this movie is STILL arguing who's smarter of them all. Either The good guys or the bad guys. Well, of course the good guy always win! The problem is there are no good guys here. They're all thieves. But one side has a Robin Hood's heart. Everything works too well here. I say, it's not as exciting as the 12 nor 11.
The hell with the story, it got Brad Pitt who's slimmer and more tempting (SLURP!) besides other 'whale' Hollywood actors, Al Pacino and Andy Garcia, not to mention Mr. Danny Ocean himself, George Clooney.

Once again, we got fooled by Hollywood! But I do loved their 70's template all over the scenes...

PERFUME

Based on the novel by Patrick Suskind, this fiction set in 18th century France. Jean-Baptiste Grenouille was a barely wanted baby. Born from a fish lady at the market exactly under the selling table. Born in the middle of incisive odors, Grenouille grown up to be a special kid with special ability. His sense of smell is so refined. And everyday is getting finer. He recognizes every smells around him. And he can smell it even if it were miles away from him.
But he had this crazy ideas of capturing smells. He wanted these smells to last, to be forever. So he went to this great perfumer for a lesson while he worked for him as a junior perfumer. But then he felt unsatisfied. He needs to preserve all smells. Most of all, the most intoxicating scent he has ever experienced, a natural fragrance of a beautiful young girl.
Yet for that, he has to be a murderer...
to collect 12 basic scents in order to create such a perfect scent of PERFUME.

What do you expect?

People have their own expectations about this movie. That's why the reviews about Sofia Coppola's newest creation is sucks big time.
Lucky me, I have no expectation on this one. So I just follow where it will lead me. And enjoying the beautiful scenery. The thing I loved most about Sofia's movies. Loved the tone color, the dresses, the angle, the lighting, everything... is very her!
Yep, this movie has got nothing (or maybe a little but not much) to do with history. Basically the story is about how the borjouis spent their lives partying and left France in enormous debt. Such cause from a very boring life they had.

Thank God, my life's not boring!

Thank God I have NO expectations!!
